#11 Three Blessings – Peace Be Still Inspirations

Three Blessings – Peace Be Still Inspirations aim to inspire learning and practice for healthy, creative and joyful living through postings on yoga, meditation and other wellness modalities. We, especially, hope the African Diaspora finds this a giving, peaceful space.

Isn’t it amazing how the advent of Spring lightens your spirit? The harmony of longer days, brighter sun, greening of trees and grass, new growth, nature sounds; all resonate re-birth and a natural well-being to enjoy.

I truly live in and am part of an ecosystem. On occasion, I have to remind the geese to not make themselves too much at home in my yard, while reminding myself that I have to share the space.

My seedlings are thriving inside. Last Sunday, I transplanted them from the trays to individual cups for more space to grow.

We held our March Cookbook Club Sunday Dinner in celebration of Women’s History Month by honoring Herstory, women who’ve personally influenced us. For the first time, we added Facebook Live to our virtual Zoom platform. Techno savviness is not my forte’ and good gracious it took me 8 minutes to get it right! I love the ladies that hung in there and shared their stories. In memory of my mother, I prepared cabbage, potatoes and alligator sausage in a skillet. She used to cook cabbage and potatoes together. The alligator sausage was in recognition of her Louisiana roots.

After the threat of a crazy storm that thankfully passed over my area the early part of the week, I saw my first butterfly; a beautiful yellow and black Monarch. Also, was reminded of the ecosystem that I now live in. What I first thought was goose poop turned out to be a snake! Based on his markings, I think it was a water moccasin, which I kindly let go his merry way.

Spring is here. I’ve got lots to learn about my new homeplace, Three Blessings. It’s namesake art piece continues to be a delight. The front porch is primed for sitting and sipping. And, I can’t wait to be out and about.

“Namaste: I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one.” – A translation of the ancient Hindu salutation
